Gowa, September 24, 2025 – Seventh-semester students of the English Language and Literature Study Program (BSI), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Alauddin Makassar, have received Basic IT training as part of their preparation before undertaking internships. The session featured Muhammad Syafii Qur’ani, S.Kom., Computer Administrator at FAH, as the keynote trainer.
In his presentation, Syafii underscored the crucial role of information technology skills as a fundamental support in today’s professional landscape. He delivered essential material on data management, software utilization, and ethical practices in the use of technology within professional settings.
The training concluded with a hands-on session utilizing Google Spreadsheet and Microsoft Excel, where students were guided through data processing, table and chart creation, as well as the application of basic functions commonly required in the workplace. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in practice and posing questions directly to the trainer.
“Proficiency in IT, particularly in spreadsheets, will prove highly beneficial during internships. Nearly all institutions rely on these applications for administration, reporting, and data management. With this foundational training, students are expected to approach their internships with greater readiness and confidence,” Syafii remarked.
The Basic IT training serves as an integral component of the internship preparation program, designed not only to enhance students’ academic readiness but also to strengthen their practical competencies in line with industry needs. Through this initiative, BSI students are expected to adapt effectively within partner institutions and make meaningful contributions throughout their internship period.
